PROBLEM STATEMENT
How might we take advantage of children’s fascination with the outdoors and the animal kingdom and help them learn about the animal habitat in a fun way?
SOLUTION
‘Find My Home’ is a game about sorting the animal cards as per their respective habitats. Kids have to choose an animal and determine where that animal lives. Parents can buy this game at the zoo shop or on their website.

Card Details
DETAILS
The game contains 12 cards with each card having a different animal illustration on one side and the name of that animal on the other side. The habitats are divided into 3 categories: African Forest, Desert Dome, and Marine Life. Each card is 3” x 3” in size which is not too big or too small, just perfect for a child to hold it in their hands. Corners of the cards are kept rounded to protect kids from accidental injuries. One of 6 main colors are used for the background for the name of the animal. On the reverse side, a brightly colored illustration of the animal is kept in front of a plain white background. Animal habitats are described in a simple language and the illustrations are chosen to be the most representative of that animal. Kids in the age group of 3 to 4 can’t read everything, so pictures and icons play an important role in the learning process.
Packaging:
The cards will be packaged in a handy drawstring bag made of cloth to make it eco-friendly. The bag will have prints of animals in outline form.

User Testing:
After taking consent from their parents, I tested this game with 3 children ranging from 3 to 4 years olds. They could recognize the animals, sort some of the cards and told me few animal stories too!
Next steps:
I am planning to refine the design for the game and add more habitats like Polar Circle, Rain forest, Grasslands, Mountains and Freshwater. The package will contain an instruction sheet for the game.
